So yes, I completely failed on sharing our Halloween party last year. I don’t know what happened, why we didn’t, or how it’s taken me this long to realize I didn’t, but here we are and we are sharing it now. So if you’ve been around for a while and follow on socials, you probably know by now that we host an annual Halloween party. Every year we change the theme and it’s more of a house party for/with our neighbors and friends.
Year One was pretty basic – Witches.
Year Two was probably my favorite so far – Stranger Things.
Year Three was a Dead Disco.
Year Four was Beetle Juice themed
Year Five, last year, was Squid Game themed.
*Apparently I didn’t share any other ones either 🤦🏻♀️so excuse me while I catch up on all that*
Over the years, we have become known for our invitations. It’s definitely my favorite part of all of it.
Dream Job.
But I don’t get paid for it.

We don’t play games or anything, we just decorate, host, feed, hydrate, and hang with our guests!
FAVORITE HALLOWEEN DECOR
Squid Game was fun though. The last season of Squid Game was coming out on Netflix and my husband went to Spirit Halloween to look for decor and found Young Hee, or whatever her name is. And I’m pretty sure he fell in love with her. But she wasn’t for sale… yet.
Anyway, that’s basically how this all got started. We had decided on our theme, but that really sealed the deal.
From there, we usually decorate our dining, living, kitchen and porch in different decor but on theme.
Living Room was the player board. On the invitations, we had a QR code for people to RSVP with and there, they were supposed to submit a photo. We had to really encourage the RSVPs this time for the photos because usually people don’t really officially RSVP, we just know they are coming. But this time, it was important.

We made our own little piggy bank with a pretty easy DIY.
This is a DIY any one can do! All you need is a balloon and some cricut pig cutouts!

I also like to put some decor on the cabinets because this is where a lot of people hang out. We added shapes I cut on the Cricut with removable vinyl. Then I printed the sign on my home computer and put some foam board behind it.

We used foam board pieces to create the shapes for the hallways that the competitors walk through. I think these turned out pretty good. I also lined the hallways with pink tablecloth. Pink & Black Duct tape came in handy too!

For food we tried to stay on theme by having Jimmy Johns (not on brand) AND sushi that I ordered from Market District – would 100% recommend! So easy, affordable and everyone thought it was delicious! I grabbed these numbers at Hobby Lobby and filled them in with the sushi once it arrived. I’m horrible at photos before guests arrive so sorry this one isn’t complete.
OUR STRANGER THINGS HALLOWEEN PARTY

In the dining room, I just set the table as another bar and created foam board clouds and picket fences like the early scenes from the show. It was an easy DIY.
We had to keep it easy the last 2 years because we had weddings the weekends before our parties!

And remember that Squid Game girl Mike fell in love with at the beginning?! A Spirit Halloween 1.5 hours away called us 2 days before our party and said we could have it… for a price of course… and someone couldn’t live without it. So she’s still here with us and might be making another appearance this year…

So… needless to say I’m playing catch up. It’s July and I’m not only thinking about our next Halloween party, but reminiscing AND actually blogging the old ones. Do you all decorate for Halloween or host a party? I’d love to hear how you all do it! It’s the one big thing we do and it’s A LOT. But it’s also a lot of fun…
